I get notified about disuss.python.org posts via email. I have Gmail set to dark mode. Notifications from discuss.python.org display with a white background. I see this in the message source:

I make no claims at understanding CSS, but shouldn’t there be some way to let the program doing the display (Gmail in this case) make decisions about foreground and background?
