- Nathan Goldbaum joined us for Office Hours to discuss changes he has in mind for the buffer protocol, and how to best shepherd PEP discussions.
- We contemplated the Core Team sprint at OpenAI for quite some more time.
- The SC declined to veto Seth Larson’s promotion to the Core Team, and Stan Ulbrych’s promotion to PSRT admin.
- We discussed [a proposed security fix with a small backward incompatibility](https://github.com/python/cpython/pull/143929) and decided the fix was worth the theoretical breaking change.
- We updated ourselves on the ongoing discussion on [PR 122971](https://github.com/python/cpython/pull/122917) and decided to discuss it with the Developer-in-Residence next week.
- We briefly discussed [the PSF’s proposed strategic plan](https://discuss.python.org/t/psf-strategic-plan-2026-full-draft-open-for-community-feedback/107314).
- Agenda for next week:
  - Regular sync with the Developer-in-Residence (the PSF Executive Director is out)
  - [PEP 797 (Shared Object Proxies)](https://peps.python.org/pep-0797/)
  - (The 2026-06-18 meeting was in fact cancelled due to absences and a short agenda)
