Stopping all development until a PEP is accepted puts us in an awkward position:
- On one hand, we want to write a compelling, clear PEP, and have time for the community to discuss it. I had planned to do that later this year when the performance advantage would be larger.
- On the other hand, we now need to get a PEP submitted and accepted as quickly as possible in order to carry on improving the JIT.
We can produce a PEP quickly enough, but either work stalls, or discussion is rushed.
So, rather than halt to development right now, could we have a month or two to continue development, and to give time for the PEP to be discussed properly?
