According to What’s New in Python 3.9 bdist_msi is now deprecated. I have a Python product that uses cx-freeze to create .msi files. I’m stuck on Python 3.6 because I can’t get cx-freeze to work on later versions (or py2exe to work on any version) for my software. So just wondering if there’s any other way to create .msis for Python software?
The Briefcase project, part of @freakboy3742’s Beeware suite, is meant to be able to do this. I haven’t tried it myself.
