Determining if code is running in a venv

So it appears that something is very wonky with how my system is either building venv files or setting sys values when they get created

All sys prefix values point to the same location

So as I mentioned in another post, I am trying to work out how to determine if a venv is currently active in a shell. https://discuss.python.org/t/determining-if-code-is-running-in-a-venv/26862/5 As I have been reading I see references to testing sys.prefex and sys.exec_prefix as a way to determine this.
