In the last 10 years of my working life I worked as a freelancer, as a specialist in Microsoft Access here in the Netherlands, at Interpolis-Tilburg, Rabobank-Zeist, Abn-Amro-Amsterdam and the SVB in Amstelveen, among others.
Then I developed an accounting program in Microsoft Access for myself from 1999 onward, named Boeket, intended for Bakker-Schmalenbach’s current chart of accounts in the Netherlands.
I am now 84 years old, had a stroke 4 years ago and am paralyzed on the right side, in a wheelchair and I have decided to port this package to Python
Can you help me with that? I am looking forward to your response.
Getting help here is always possible. However, this is not a tutoring site, it will be best to pose specific questions. These do not need to be limited to Python syntax, general questions about coding style or solutions for specific design or programming problems are equally on topic.
Questions are much more likely to get an answer if they have
- a clear and concise description of what you are trying to achieve
- similarly a clear description of the issue you are facing
- if applicable a short and executable piece of code demonstrating the issue
- if it is about an exception, the traceback from top to bottom
To begin with, there are tutorials for absolute beginners and programmers coming to Python from other languages. I did one of the latter and was very pleased to get up to speed quickly.
