PEP 752: Implicit namespaces for package repositories

It seems like a third-party package index is a better option than namespaces on PyPI. I was confused about why that wasn’t being discussed so much in the namespace threads.

I will add this to the rejected ideas section in PEP 752 today.

AFAICS, a big problem here is that the third-party repo is not default.

This is correct and something I will talk about but the bigger issue is that it’s unrealistic to expect every project like Django and Jupyter to maintain their own infra.
