PEP 755: Implicit namespace policy for PyPI

Major cloud providers like Amazon, Google and Microsoft have a common prefix for each feature’s corresponding package

Have they indicated that the current situation is a problem for them? Can representatives participate in this thread to make their case?

Without officially speaking for my employer, there is a desire to lower the risk of someone mistaking some random person’s package as being official.

I think any registration should come with a decent sized (thinking five figures annually) bill paid towards PyPI support and maintenance. If you want to claim a chunk of the namespace for yourself, you’d better really want it.
