# PEP 8016 - The steering council model

In the PEP I only see the word _strict majority_:

Are they the same thing? _simple majority_ has a definition in wikipedia, not _strict majority_.

Not sure in open source world we should take such real life things into consideration. It’s complicated.

+1. The council could use their power later if there is really a problem. Promoting core devs could be frequent but not ejecting one. I think so.
