And then a gushing comment about the film from a former FarmVille neighbor on Facebook. The discussion continued, which I’ll reproduce here, because it says so much about the film’s impact on someone who knew nothing about Python:
Tim:
Nancy, I’m overjoyed to hear you enjoyed it! It’s very well made, but is really aimed at committed fans of the programming language, who are already familiar with the major players and at least parts of its history. There’s really no attempt made to provide background or motivation for “outsiders”.
So it’s terrific to hear that it was also fun for you!
Nancy:
Tim, While I truly don’t know anything about computer languages and all that, it was very clear that Python had an amazing impact for those that do. As well as what was accomplished with it. The fact that I know who you are made it that much more fun and interesting to watch. And your legendary “Wink” too, lol.
Don’t expect her to start programming, though.
