Yeah, CPU issue is my guess as well. Your code looks correct, and certainly x is no iterator when your code is executed correctly.

Found out how to use Q-Flash, and updated my BIOS firmware version from FC to FK. I’ve now managed to run the code 12 times in a row in IDLE without any crashes or errors, so I think it’s safe to say that the issue is solved. Thanks @Rosuav and @Stefan2 for your help.
