Sounds like bikeshedding to me! Yay!  
If PEP 793 is accepted, I’ll

- add a _private_ macro (`_Py_OPAQUE_PYOBJECT`) for easier experimentation, with a promise to remove it well before 3.15 RC, and
- summarize the options & open a thread specifically for the tags & names.

Does that sound fair?
