# Steering Council Election Results - 2025 Term

I think this is unfortunately common.

There was another discussion about a [replacement for python-commiters](https://discuss.python.org/t/expectations-responsibilities-around-notifications-announcements-for-core-developers/72247/8) and a reminder [on the election opening post](https://discuss.python.org/t/steering-council-election-has-started-2025-term/72290/5).

But ultimately it’s kind of a failing of Helios’ mail setup and lack of clear communication paths for core devs aside from direct outreach.

Seems helios won’t be used in the future as it doesn’t support [the recently approved voting method](https://discuss.python.org/t/changing-pep-13-to-adopt-bloc-star-voting/64971). And hopefully the feedback on a lack of centralized email messaging will be addressed. So maybe things will improve moving forward.
