A good first step would be adding types to the stdlib, in places where they’d serve as good documentation (e.g. they aren’t overwhelming).

Yes, the SC also has the power to say “yes” – that comes with the power to say “no”. I consider “yes” the default – what we would have without a SC or BDFL.
Is there a recap of those stability issues somewhere and how many downstream projects were affected ? The only annoying problem I witnessed personally didn’t have anything to do with performance, but was a change in enum string representation.
Enums were one, frame object changes and C API incompatibilities were the other big destabilization.
No recap yet. It would be good to compile, but most people who were involved spent the time they had fixing fires, and now that the task isn’t urgent it’s sliding down on the TODO list :(
Not to mention that counting affected projects is pretty tricky – any way you do it, you’ll get a biased estimate.
