Was able to use idle upon install of Python, but a reboot stopped that.
Error message in idle points to this doc:
Firewall doesn’t show a pop up to whitelist the subprocess, could some keen eye help out here? Only takes a minute to install simplewall, > block all is on by default > enable filters in desktop tray icon.
You will probably want to keep the app after 
as it blocks Microsoft telemetry from boot.
Docs don’t say anything here about which subprocesses to whitelist.
