It was strange that it took such low memory but such high CPU usage.
I could simply kill it but do anyone has some thoughts about where it came from?
The Microsoft Store’s Python doesn’t silently update in the background does it? Otherwise that is odd. Is this on a 4 core machine, per chance? Both uv and python.org Python repls idle at ~10MB and 0% CPU on my machine (appearing under the Terminal).
I’d reboot and see if it respawns. If it does, check through the Scheduled Windows services/ tasks, and run a malware scan. Could be a sneaky little mining script.
It only appeared once, and after I kill it, It hasn’t come back since.
The python is python.org Python 3.9. Maybe a weird bug in the REPL since the command line is just “python”.
I’ll see if it appears again.
