I was born in 1958 in Skopje, Socialist Republic of Macedonia (part of former SFR Yugoslavia) and am now retired.
I started programming in BASIC on a ZX Spectrum.
After that, when I bought my first PC, I used MS BASIC with which I created software for restaurants (taking offers, printing invoices, inventory…).
When I bought PowerBASIC (ex Turbo BASIC) I created software for analyzing football results (55 leagues, 6 tables for each, head-to-head matches…).
In the meantime, I started with DTP using PageMaker, QuarkXPress, InDesign with Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW and now the Affinity package. Excluding Affinity, I taught classes for all these programs including Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
I have prepared, among others, books for the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, the Archaeological Museum of Macedonia, the Ministry of Culture… I am also the author of the book Opera Stories.
Two years ago (2022) I found Python and noticed its simple BASIC-like notation and immediately fell in love with it. So far there are no big projects like the ones I’ve worked on in BASIC, but who knows…
If I become fluent in Python, there might even be a book in Macedonian.
