Hello,
I’d like to organize the 2023 Sprint in Brno, Czech Republic, at the Red Hat office.
Unfortunately I won’t see y’all at PyCon US – I’ll stay within a few hours from home all year – but hopefully I can get you to come to me!
Nothing much is planned yet, I just got word from local management that they’ll support it. The sprint will be some time in September/October/November.
If you were also thinking of organizing this year’s sprint, let me know. You get to pick the weapon.
Please vote for when you can come! You’ll be able to change your vote later, and the poll isn’t binding, so put in a yes if there’s a 50%+ chance you’ll be able to make it.
If you know about a general reason to prefer/avoid a week, please say so below!
Polls can’t be edited, so I’ll put an extra list with notes here:
Sep 18-22 (right before PyCon UK*)
Sep 25-29 (right after PyCon UK*)
Oct 2-6 (like last year)
Oct 9-14
Oct 16-20 (conflict with PyCon MEA & DjangoCon US)
Oct 23-28
Oct 30-Nov 3
Nov 6-10
Nov 13-17
PyCon UK is Friday-Monday, Sep 22-25, so it would overlap one day of the sprint week
I’ll get in touch with the PSF about travel/accomodation reimbursement. Don’t book travel yet if you need PSF money.
The sprint intended for core devs. (If you’re not one yet, you’ll need an invitation from one, and I’ll need to confirm the invitation.)
And it’s in-person only. (If you can’t make it, we can’t provide a better experience than Discord and ad-hoc video calls with attendees.)
I’ll meet with the PSF on Thursday (June 1) to discuss budgets and reimbursements.
If you can, please fill the form by then to help with planning. It should only take a few minutes.
You can change answers later (e.g. “Are you coming” from “most likely” to “no”)
Don’t sweat the cost estimation yet, right now I’m looking at the continent you’re from.
