I’m excited to see this funding round open! Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen. Looking forward to seeing Python communities around the world make the most of this opportunity.
The 2026 Grants Program Funding Round will be narrowly scoped to Conferences and Workshops of all types that are scheduled between December 1, 2026, and April 30, 2027. If all goes well, the PSF intends to run future rounds of funding, so please do not be discouraged if your event doesn’t fit within this time frame.
I’m assuming “do not be discouraged if your event doesn’t fit within this time frame” only applies to events happening after the stated time frame, correct? So I’m free to be discouraged if my event is in October 2026, right?
Hi @devdanzin I hear you I recognize that it’s likely discouraging if your event falls before the window. This window is what made sense based on when we were able to kick off this first round, go through a full review process, and disburse funds while they’re still useful to organizers (so events can plan around the funding with confidence rather than uncertainty). We really hope to be in the position to continue running funding rounds to support Python events throughout the year moving forward.
