Can a moderator allow me to post more than two link?

Hi,

I wanted to create a new topic, unfortunately I got

Sorry, new users can only put 2 links in a post.

:confused:

The links in my post are necessary they point to source of software or wikipedia page…

Could a moderator lift this limit (temporally if needed ) for me ? or what should I do to be allowed…

You could place additional links in a block code with back ticks like this: https://discuss.python.org/ so that they can be at least easily copy-pasted if not clickable.

I guess you could place additional links in follow-up posts.

I guess you need to reach a higher so-called “trust level” by interacting with this site over time.

You need to use this site more so that you gain a higher trust level.
For example view topics. I’m not a moderator here so I’m not aware of the requirements to get to trust level 1, I think you will be on trust level 0.

Have a look in your profile for the trust level you have.

  1. Click on ICON on top rigth of page.
  2. Click on Profile icon (the head+shoulders icon)
  3. Click on Summary
  4. Click on Expand

You should see a line that appear that include your trust level.
When you are level 1 you will be able to post more links.

I am pretty sure the defaults are unchanged. This means the requirements to reach TL1 are:

Honestly, these requirements are so low that I don’t think giving exemptions is necessary. Just read a bit and you will easily reach this threshold.

As mentioned, things will soon improve if you stick around.

This is basicly to reduce drive by spammers who show up, spam, leave.
Legitimate users such as yourself will have fewer limitations soon.

If I’m not mistaken, it’s not specified if those are cumulative or not.

if it is, then I found it not that light…
If I have no other topic currently, why should I make ~5 phony topic ? is this not even worst ?

No, these requirements are all purely reading stuff, not requiring you to make any posts.

omg, you’re right ! I just tested it and gained Basic user level :partying_face:

Entering at least 5 topics is misleading because it’s followed by Reading at least 30 posts\

Therefor as reading has been utilized, it’s look like Entering mean write, not just (open/read)
