Hey! I could use some help if anyone is able to. So every time I try to download python on my machine it gets stuck at this point. I did some troubleshooting and looked at the others solutions but nothing has worked thus far. My computer should be able to handle this program so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Oh yeah, I’m a complete noob with software stuff so step by step preferred! Thanks for any help!
(Also, so sorry if this is in the wrong place— just lmk where it should go.)
What do you mean by “gets stuck”? Was the disk busy? It might take a while if there are a lot of files to install, and the progress bar won’t necessarily be moving all of the time.
I mean it stays like this for hours. I haven’t been able to download it no matter how long I leave it. It just stays at the screen with the “Core Interpreter” part showing. Fr I’ve left it for 24 hrs and came back to it still like this.
Not sure how to check if the “disk” is busy hah. I ran the program when I first got the computer and it wouldn’t work either.
not really, i mean what you can achieve by right-clicking the installer file in the Windows Explorer and selecting “Als Administrator ausführen” which is decorated w/ a funny blue & yellow medieval shield. you’d then be prompted by a modal to confirm that. (at least that’s what i expect Windows 10 to behave like.)
and there are some general, rough experiments that you can try to narrow the issue as first steps: does the same usage of exactly the same installer file behave differently a) when using another user account, b) on another Windows 11 installation, c) on a Windows 10.
So I tried to download again using the first set of step and I still didn’t have any luck.
As for the other experiments, I still need to attempt these and will do so when some time. Thanks for the advise!
(Also, how would I do it on another Windows installation 0-0 ? )
Alright-- sorry for the radio silence… I gave up for a while 0-0
Anyways, I’m back and tried these experiments. I used a different user account but it still got stuck on the same part ; not sure I did the “another windows installation” part right but whatever I did didn’t work either.
Something I thought could be an issue was that ESET is download on my computer. Could this be stopping the program from downloading? If so, what do I do to remove it or fix it?
cool, but terminlogy matters when seeking insights: you had downloaded an installer file that was corrupted at some point and that kept you from installing.
