Disclaimer: My Name Has Been Used Without Authorization in the 2025 Board Elections (LinkedIn & GitHub)

Hey folks,

I’m happy to share that I’ve been nominated for the Python Software Foundation (PSF) Board Election 2025.

I noticed that Franz Kiraly endorsed my ticket without my prior consent. I want to be clear that I’m not part of that endorsement and I’m running independently with my own vision and goals.

I recently discovered that my name was added to a LinkedIn post and GitHub repository without my consent, and the content does not reflect my values or the work I stand for. I have asked him to remove my name from his LinkedIn and GitHub, but although he has read the message, he continues tagging me on his posts.

My primary motivation is to grow PyCon Gulf, as many of you know the Gulf region is expanding rapidly in tech and innovation. For example, events like GITEX Global are already drawing huge international attention, and I believe Python should have a stronger presence here too.

If elected, here are some areas I’d like to focus on:

  • Funding & sustainability
With the PSF grants program being paused recently, many local communities struggled. I want to work on building stronger relationships with companies and organizations that rely on Python, so they see the value in giving back and helping the PSF sustain its programs.

  • Awareness & visibility
Many people use Python daily without realizing how much the PSF supports — from PyPI to documentation to events. Increasing awareness can help attract both contributors and funding.

  • Inclusion & representation
Ensuring voices from emerging regions are heard, and communities everywhere feel part of the Python journey.

  • Bridging global & local
Building stronger connections between local organizers and the PSF so grassroots needs are reflected in global initiatives.

I’m committed to building a stronger, more inclusive, and more sustainable PSF.

To learn more, please check the official PSF nominees page. I couldn’t include more than two links here apologies for that!

Also, please help report this LinkedIn post and GitHub repository that has my name.

I’d be grateful for your support and your vote. :folded_hands:

Thank you all for your support and encouragement.
