My problem is , whenever i click “edit with idle” after right clicking the python file, nothing appears, like nothing at all, but they do open when I’m using the IDLE software and click File->Open, but this is a hassle, i tried changing the default app to idle.bat, but it didn’t work, then i also tried changing some values in the registry editor, still didn’t work, i just want to open files with “edit with idle” like normally. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version, which is 3.11.5. please help i have no idea how this happened.
From the Windows start menu, go to Settings->System->Default apps.
Click on “Choose default applications by file type”.
Scroll down to “.py” and pick “Python”, and do the same for “.pyw”.
That should fix it.
