Help with Terminal Command Lilne

I have downloaded and installed Python on my Mac. In the terminal, I am unable to call python. I suspect it is because I don’t really understand the command line. I have tried cd but not sure where I need to go. Can anyone assist a neophyte here? Here is a screenshot of where I am stuck at the terminal. Python was installed successfully in Apps. I have tried a restart.

If you are using Python 3.x, they usually are made available via python3 on the command line, not python.
