Adding a link from shutil module doc to glossary should help a lot.

Since there is already a question in Stack Overflow asking about “what is a file-like object”.

Seems reasonable to me. Would you like to submit a PR? It should be a one-word change, from file-like object to :term:`file-like object` (or alternatively, :term:`file object` for the nominally canonical term).
