I’m excited to share that the PSF has announced the introduction of the PSF Community Partner Program. This new program is designed as an “in-kind” way for us to support Python events and initiatives with non-financial assistance through the use of the PSF logo and name, as well as promotional support via sharing qualified posts on PSF official social media accounts.
Find details about how the program came about in our announcement blog post and more details about the program, criteria, how to apply, and more on the program’s webpage.
If you have comments, feedback, or questions, we welcome you to:
Sounds like a great idea, especially for larger events.
The Python Software Foundation (PSF) is pleased to invite … Meetups …
Submit your application at least 6 weeks before your event or initiative. First-time applicants are encouraged to apply 8 weeks in advance.
For meetup groups, would we need to apply for each individual meetup event, or the group as a whole?
For the meetup groups I co-organise, we often don’t have confirmed dates until quite close to the event. For example with one group, we’ll have one in March, but the date isn’t confirmed yet and is either 3-4 weeks away. The April date is confirmed. Another group has a confirmed date for March (5 weeks away), but not yet beyond that.
I would direct Meetup groups to apply for the group as a whole. I don’t think the program could sustainability support individual events for the thousands of Python Meetups out there I will clarify this in the documentation.
