Posting today to share that the Python Developers Survey 2023 is now open! The PSF partners with JetBrains to run this survey to get an understanding of the current state of Python development and the community. I welcome you to respond to the survey to share your valuable perspective and experience
Posting an update here to note that we have extended the Python Developers Survey for 2023 to ensure we have a comparable amount of data to past years. Join in and help us to accurately represent the Python community by taking the survey, sharing with fellow Python developers, and any local/online Python related networks!
Iโve been joking to people that the race is on as to what happens first: 2023 results get released or 2024 survey gets announced. Iโve felt for a few years that this survey is exploited by JetBrains for market research (they have included questions in the past like โWhat features are missing from your IDE?โ and then withheld that data from the published datasets, along with all the verbatims). It seems pretty weird that it should take this long to release the results.
Hi folks, thank you for your patience. This effort is taken on by folks at JetBrains and the PSF who have a lot of responsibilities on their plates. We are all committed to providing a report that is done properly, and is useful for the community we hope you understand.
The results for the Python Developers Survey 2023 are out! Check them out, dig into the data, and let us know what you think
