In order to encourage users to focus on positive on-topic interactions, we have decided to remove the ability to see hidden posts entirely.
These forums are a moderated space, and occasionally moderated posts can be hidden from view. Posts are moderated because they are off topic or inappropriate. A given topic has the information needed to participate in it in an on topic way, regardless of any moderated posts.
Previously, hidden posts could be revealed on click if a user reached “Trust Level 3” by interacting regularly and positively on the forums. Some users have begun to focus on that ability as the goal of reaching that trust level, which it is not. We want users to focus on staying on topic and following the participation guidelines, regardless of trust level. Trying to respond to moderated posts or second guess moderation decisions is not on topic.
We have seen feedback here and elsewhere about this over the last few weeks, and based on that have made this decision. If you are concerned about a moderation decision, you can privately message the @moderators group on the forums, or contact the Code of Conduct team.
