Official Certification

Is there some official Python certification Course or exam? I don’t want to do it from some third-party sites, like Geekforgeeks, Coursera or any. Can’t find any official python site for certification. Help will be appreciated.

Nope! The ultimate certification is being able to write code and have fun doing it. So… have at it! You don’t need a piece of paper that tells you that you’re qualified to pick up a snake and use it to teach an intelligent rock how to do math.

But certification obviously enhances one’s portfolio. Even if I know that I can do this and this, its a way to tell others my capability. And thus would like to do it from official places, to give my certification actual weightage.

Honestly they really don’t. Your portfolio is your projects and experience. When I look at resumes I basically skip over most certifications, I want to see and hear about projects and learnings: not that someone read some pages and regurgitated it back in a test.

There was great LinusTechTips video on the CompTIA cert and how much of a joke it was. They had to take it down, but you could probably find it if interested.

Certficates do tell you a lot about a person. Perhaps something differerent to me, than what you have in mind.

I think part of the problem is that “knowing Python” is fairly valueless on its own.

You really need to know Python + a bunch of the specific tools/libraries related to the field that you’re in. And there’s a lot of different fields so

The PSF manages Python itself, but it doesn’t manage most of the tools/libraries built with Python. And nor should it.

So the PSF couldn’t really even give out a worthwhile “official” certificate for most practical uses of Python.

I’ve been working on building my skills in Python, Machine Learning, and AI. I’ve done a bunch of projects to display on github and linkedin and even completed a few certification courses to show something. But honestly, I’m not getting much response from recruiters, and it’s been a bit frustrating.

I’m thinking maybe I need to add a few more certifications to my profile or just keep grinding until something clicks. If anyone has advice, tips, or opportunities, I’d really appreciate it!
