I’m taking the opportunity to write here to inform folks who follow our community in East and South East Asia on changes that we will be seeing for PyCon APAC and also how our community will collaborate in the future.
After 15 years, PyCon APAC has held its final gathering in Manila. The event marked an important milestone: A new nonprofit called Python Asia Organization (PAO). This nonprofit will manage future conferences in Asia and provide a stronger, more sustainable structure for our regional community. “PyCon APAC” may be retired, but a new era of collaboration and support is just beginning.
