If you are organizing an event or a conference you will typically want to reach out to the Python community or part of it to get more attention.
This topic is meant to collect resources suitable for announcing events to the wider Python community.
Calendars and Event Data
-
Python Event Calendars for conferences and user group meetings:
Submitting an event to the Python Events calendars
The events calendars are listed on python.org/events and also as a calendar view on pycon.org/#calendar.
They are also available as iCal links, so that you can easily add them to your calendar apps.
If you are planning to organize an event, it’s usually a good idea to keep an eye on new event registrations to avoid collisions. -
For announcing CFP dates, the Python Conference Deadlines is a good resource.
-
You can additionally add the conference to the community run repo GitHub - python-organizers/conferences: List of Python Conferences around the World which provides a CSV listing of Python conferences.
Listings
-
If you planning a new PyCon conference (that is, a conference using the trademark “PyCon” in the name), please consult with the PSF Trademark Work Group to get approval.
Once approved, you should then also submit a PR to the pycon.org website, to get it listed: see GitHub - PyCon/pycon.org -
For new Python conferences, please also add them on the community maintained wiki page we have for these: PythonConferences - Python Wiki
This page aims to be the most complete list of Python conferences around the world, to make it easy for people in the community (and for sponsors) to find Python conferences.
If you want to see more items added to these lists, please post a message to this topic. Thanks.
