Welcome to our next meetup on Wednesday 22nd October, at Zalando.
We’ll have three talks this month:
Naa Ashiorkor Nortey: Python Meets the Senses: Making Sense of Complex Sensor Data
Ever wondered how machines can “smell”? In this talk, I will present how Python can help us explore patterns in data from electronic noses, sensors that detect chemicals around us. You will see how we can uncover insights, understand the effect of environmental factors, and make complex sensor readings easier to understand.
@jpakkane: Typed Python the hardest way
While Python’s dynamic typing is great, it becomes an obstacle as projects get bigger. A common solution for this is to add typing information and enforce it in CI. But what happens if you take this approach and run with it further than anyone probably should? Let’s find out!
The next PyData Helsinki meetup is on 2 Dec at Reaktor, Yliopistonkatu 4. We have one confirmed talk:
Ville Rantanen: Bottling AI
We’ll be trying something new: a panel discussion on How to Land a (Data) Job in Today’s Market. Our three panelists have interviewed hundreds of candidates for their respective companies, some specifically in data and some in software engineering.
Last time, we introduced the PyData Helsinki quiz with our own spin on the format used by our friends at Helsinki Python. The quiz will make a comeback!
This time we’re wrapping things up in a relaxed pikkujoulut spirit at Beerhouse Kaisla. We’ve reserved a spacious private cabinet for our group starting at 6 PM, so feel free to drop in, grab a drink, and connect with fellow Python enthusiasts.
There are no presentations this time, just good company and end-of-year vibes. But don’t worry, we still have something fun planned: a Christmas-themed HelPy quiz kicking off at 7 PM.
