A few weeks ago I collected answers to a silly Python survey, in order to make a “Family Feud”-style game out of it. I got nearly 400 responses, which is pretty good. The answers are, unsurprisingly, amusingly different from what I expected. I’ve cleaned them up, categorised them, and organised them into game rounds… and I do think this will be a fun game. (I definitely had fun processing the responses.)
If you’re wondering what kind of game I have in mind, I direct you to The Incomparable’s Feuding Families series of podcasts.
Would you like to try and play this game with me? I want to play at least a couple of test games where I figure out where to strike the balance for some of the categories, which questions are too hard and which are too easy, et cetera. I then want to record a couple of games to see if they are fun to listen to, and edit them into a podcast. The games are probably most fun with 6 players (two teams of three) with a bit of a spread of experience between the players, but for the test games we can do bigger or smaller teams. I would aim for the game to be about an hour, maybe an hour and a half. This would all probably happen in the July/August timeframe.
If you’re (potentially) interested, please fill out this signup form. It’s not a binding contract, so you’re not signing up for anything (yet). (I already ran a little straw poll on Discord so I think there’s at east some interest.) I’ll use the responses to try and figure out potential team combinations, given the timezone preferences people provide, and then try to arrange play times (via the email you provide in the form, which will only be used for this purpose). If there’s a lot of interest I may take a different tack and organize a regular play time instead.
