In case you missed it, the Python Packaging Council is being established this year with the acceptance of PEP 772. 
I’m starting this topic as a place to share announcements related to the election, since a lot of the folks interested in Python Packaging are active here. If you want to discuss the election, I do request that happen in a separate topic from this one.
With the context setting out of the way, here’s the first election announcement covering the election timeline, with some words on the council and who might want to consider running for it!
