I have muted most forums here. I started a thread in Core Workflow several days ago. Even though it says I’m “watching” the thread and “[y]ou have mailing list mode enabled, so you will be notified of replies to this topic via email”, I have received no emails about replies. The only way I discover there are replies is to visit the website and check my notifications (upper right hand corner of the browser tab).
Maybe I have something else configured which suppresses these emails, but it seems like Discourse thinks I should be receiving email notifications.
I seem to receive everything I expect. There is a 10 minute (IIRC) delay
between a post and the email, which I expect accomodates the most likely
post post edit time window.
Thanks, Cameron & David. I get nuthin’… Ever… I’m a Gmail user and get tons of mail daily from all sorts of other sources. I check my spam folder regularly (Google is nothing, if not mistake-prone vis a vis spam). I’ve seen no replies to this thread or to the linked thread in Core Workflow (also a muted category).
I have three unmuted categories, Core Development, PSF and Packaging. I’m loathe to post test messages to any of those categories. I just changed my setting on this category to “Watching First Post.” We’ll see if I get any emails.
David, is it possible the log message you saw was written before all logic about emitting an email was complete?
Edit: I just added a second email. Will see if that catches any missives.
Oddly enough, I did get an email notification for my previous reply, one I actually didn’t need. Go figure. Seems to me like something’s rotten in Denmark…
