A “water cooler” category would fit posts like this
Hello,
just asking if I can post here (probably in Help category) some python code that is funny / convoluted / obfuscated or esoteric… (various adjectives can be given). Something like easter-eggs.
I am lacking this kind of section in this forum…
But I think it can be quite educative.
(Of course unless the code is malicious, but I don’t mean this kind of stuff.)
M.
And this
It was very difficult to find accurate documentation on what the max size of the key and value is for a shelve dict item (persistent storage). So I wrote a program to test that. An error means the size has been exceeded. I can make a new post and explain it there, with links and test program.
Is it ok to post that program with the findings, on this forum? I don’t see a forum area for “Tips” nor a tag for “tips”.
And also possibly for 1% baked ideas (see the recent controversy ).
A big +1 for me. “General discussion” (what the Python Help category really is) is too broad, “Python Help” is a misleading name and doesn’t sufficiently cover the community interests.
On a side note,
regardless of whether the new category is approved, I want to see your tier list
