Setup Failed Python 3.12.4

I am repeatedly seeing setup failure screen on the package installation window. I originally had it installed working well but my files were all over the place so whilst I had pycharm running in the back, I reorganised the files of python into one folder in the same Documents section of the file explorer. Then I received error issues so I deleted everything using revo unistaller to get rid of all related folders. I then tried reinstalling as admin aswell but still ran into same problem. I’m not sure what to do now.

3.14 is a really early alpha stage build. Is this really what you want?

If you want the latest released version, 3.12 is what you should be installing.

Sorry, i meant 3.12.4

I ran as admin and selected add PATH

What message do you see when you click “log file”?

honestly lots of messages should I copy and paste the full thing

Just the first page and lets see if something obvious, I guess. I don’t know the solution but can at least make sure this thread has enough data.

its a notepad that appears im not sure what you mean by first page

The most recent messages, I mean.

Can you check “wordwrap” in notepad (under view)? Some of those lines are getting truncated, especially that fourth line where the error message is.

Hmm, seems like the error was before what we’re looking at. Can you attach the full log?

this is the full log

And you’re sure you ran as admin?

Also: check add/remove programs and make sure Python / py isn’t listed anywhere. And, reboot… windows installs can sometimes be finicky with cached.

it wasn’t on the add/remove page but for some reason the python launcher was still installed so i removed it from the control panel programs and features place, should I try again to install after reboot?

That’s what I would do, yes.

I ran it as admin and select add to path but same issue has occured
