Python 12 32-bit EXE can't run on WinXP VM

I have a VirtualBox VIrtual Machine running Windows XP Pro SP3, and I downloaded the 32-bit Python 3.12.0 installer, but WinXP says it’s not a valid Win32 application

Windows XP is very very dead. Modern versions of Python simply do not support it. If you must use an ancient version of Windows, you will need to use an ancient version of Python with it. I believe Python 3.4 is the last version that ran on XP, and Python 3.8 is the last that ran on Windows 7.
